Sophic is inspired by Australia.

Our culture. Our environment. Our community.

  • OUR GLASS

Do these bottles look familiar? Perhaps like a popular beer?

Our Cleansers are packaged in recycled stubbies and made from at least 70% recycled Australian glass.

We source our recycled glass from Vissy.

Glass is one of the world’s most sustainable packaging options, made from natural ingredients and recyclable again and again.

  • REFILLS

In the 1960s, most Aussies drank wine solely on special occasions. But in April 1965, South Australian winemaker, Thomas Angove, patented the first ever bag-in-box, intending to create a modern-day half-gallon wine jug, or flagon (from which it has been suggested the term “goon” is derived).

Our salon's offer refills for our cleansers in this unique Aussie invention.

  • NATIVE EXTRACTS

We source a number of Australian native botanical extracts from Native Extracts including; Quandong, Kakadu Plum, Kangaroo Apple, Lilly Pilly, Coffee Seed and Desert Lime.

We chose to work with Native Extracts because they strive for continual improvement and better solutions for people and planet - aiming for net positive impacts with regard to water, energy, waste and biomass. They support the growth of sustainable primary industries with greater inclusion and Indigenous engagement throughout the supply chain. Learn more about their impact here.

  • COLOUR DISC STAND

Our Colour Discs are presented on a timber stand that has been handmade near Byron Bay from Camphor Laurel wood.

Native to Taiwan, Japan and parts of China, camphor laurel was introduced to Australia in 1822 as a garden ornamental. Since then, feral populations have established from the Atherton Tableland in north Queensland to Victoria.

Camphor laurel is an attractive shade tree but can be very invasive, replacing pasture and native vegetation such as blue gums which are koalas' preferred food.

Our stands help to remove this weed from our environment, making room for natives to flourish.

  • WORDS WITH HEART

Words With Heart is an eco-friendly print and stationery social enterprise that funds education projects for women and girls.

Their impact is measured in ‘days of education’. Currently Sophic has provided 100 days of education for women and girls through their project partners. They partner with some of the world’s best NGO’s in this space, funding projects across Africa and Asia, including primary and secondary education, and also business and skills training.

On top of this – all of of their products are made sustainably, using 100% recycled paper and sustainable stocks, eco inks and green electricity. Paper offcuts are used in recycled packaging. This dual environmental impact is super important – sustainability is at the core of everything they do.

Words with Heart is printed in Brisbane.

  • SEVEGEN

We are committed to giving back to our local community. We donate 1% of e-commerce sales turnover to SevGen every year.

SevGen is a not-for-profit focused on enterprise, education and entrepreneurship. They work on a number of projects which you can check out here. However, we are currently supporting their Galeru: Forever Fuits Project.

In 2021, SevGen acquired a Bushtucker orchard property. The goal is to create an Indigenous led Bushtucker Industry and Seed Bank for Regenerative Agriculture. This project will also see collaborations with chefs to start utilising Australian Bushtucker in restaurants.
